These Air Fryer Uncrustables offer a delightful combination of creamy peanut butter and sweet fruit jam encased in soft, golden-brown bread. The air frying method yields a gently warmed exterior with a perfectly gooey center, creating a comforting and satisfying treat that is both quick to prepare and enjoyable for all ages.

Ingredients

  • White sandwich bread: 8 slices
  • Creamy peanut butter: 1/2 cup
  • Fruit jam or jelly (strawberry, grape, or raspberry work well): 1/2 cup
  • Butter or cooking spray (optional, for extra crispness): as needed

Instructions

  1. Lay out four slices of bread. Spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter evenly on each slice, leaving a small border around the edges.
  2. Spread 2 tablespoons of jam or jelly over the peanut butter on each slice.
  3. Top each prepared slice with a second slice of bread.
  4. Using a round cookie cutter (about 3-4 inches in diameter) or an Uncrustables sandwich sealer, press firmly to cut out and seal the edges of each sandwich. Discard or save the crusts for another use.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, if desired.
  6. Place the sealed sandwiches in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches.
  7. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 4-6 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bread is lightly golden and warmed through.
  8. Carefully remove from the air fryer and let cool for a minute before serving.

Notes

For best sealing, ensure fillings do not reach the very edge of the bread.

Experiment with different nut butters and jam flavors for variety.

These can be made ahead and frozen. Air fry from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.

Adjust air fryer temperature and time based on your specific model; monitor closely to prevent burning.

A fork can be used to crimp the edges if you don’t have a specific sandwich sealer.
