Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Brownies:
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (90g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • For the Green Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 23 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A few drops green food coloring
  • For Decoration:
  • 1/4 cup green sprinkles
  • 1216 small candy eggs
  • 1216 small chocolate bunny candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, but not wet batter. Do not overbake.
  8. Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before frosting.
  9. While the brownies cool, prepare the frosting: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  10. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating until smooth.
  11. Add 2 tablespoons of milk or cream and the vanilla extract. Beat until creamy. If the frosting is too thick, add the remaining tablespoon of milk or cream, one teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  12. Add a few drops of green food coloring and mix until the frosting is uniformly green.
  13. Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the green frosting evenly over the top.
  14. Decorate the frosted brownies with green sprinkles, small candy eggs, and a chocolate bunny on each square.
  15. Cut into 12-16 squares before serving.

Notes

Ensure brownies are completely cooled before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.

For a fudgier brownie, avoid overmixing the batter and do not overbake.

Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

For cleaner cuts, chill the frosted brownies for 30 minutes before slicing.
